Myriad Souls has taken over

   Posted by: Spencer Conrad

As I sit here trying to write a short story I have planned, I can’t keep my mind on it. I keep wandering back to Myriad Souls. Aveyar is impatient for more of his story to unfold and won’t shut up in my head. It’s like all these stories are like young toddlers constantly fighting for my attention. With short stories I can write them quickly. Once the story is finished, it stops bothering me. However, Myriad Souls will continue. And because of this, it continues to nag me. I can’t do ANYTHING without Myriad Souls popping into my head; I keep thinking about Aveyar and his story: the story of the angel reborn as a demon.

Hey that’s my idea!

   Posted by: Spencer Conrad

You know, one of the hardest things about being a writer is coming up with an original idea. While it’s true that there are technically no NEW ideas (after thousands of years of stories, they’ve all been used), you can combine unoriginal ideas in such a way that it’s original. For example, in Fablehaven the author took the idea of the classical fairy tale creatures living among us (a very overused idea), and combined it with the idea of a magical preserve. While you can argue that this has been done before, it still FELT original (to me at least).

Writing craze

   Posted by: Spencer Conrad

Well, writing is suddenly easy again, and I’ve been getting a lot of work done. I’ve started on a new short story, and even have managed to get a great deal of the buffer for Myriad Souls done (yay for no more late Myriad Soul episodes). I’m really excited about writing, especially Myriad Souls. So, expect a lot of new content to show up this month! I found out why I kept getting sick, have fixed the problem, so I’m sure that my regained skills will stay. Make sure to check back every couple of days, and don’t forget to look every Saturday for a new episode of Myriad Souls. I’m even going to start writing regularly in my blog. (wow amazing. He’s actually going to provide something for us to stave off our boredom on a regular basis). However, a good author knows how to be brief and shut up for the sake of brevity, so I bid you farewell.

By the way, I’ve discovered that SlimFasts make great snacks, especially when writing. Gotta love that fake chocolate flavor. Ok, now I’m really done.

The turning point

   Posted by: Spencer Conrad

Now that all the hectic stuff like finals and getting surgery are done with, I have much more time for writing. True, I probably could have gotten a lot of writing done just after surgery, but I was in no state to write. However, I didn’t waste the time, I came up with ideas for stories (both Myriad Souls and other projects), as well as came up with a plan of action for getting back on schedule. I added progress bars so you can track my current projects.

What used to be

   Posted by: Spencer Conrad

There are times in life where you realize just how good you used to have it. There is a magical moment where your bubble is popped, and life really sucks for a while. This moment just barely came for me. I was given surgery on my toe to remove a needle, and now it hurts like it is burning in all the fires of heck if I move it more than a few inches. It’s getting better, but it is a moment where I appreciate much more a life without a very annoying left big toe.

Life gets in the way

   Posted by: Spencer Conrad

There is one very annoying thing about having a life: it gets in the way. Often you have great plans for what you’re going to accomplish, projects you’re going to complete…but then nothing happens. This is especially true when you’re no longer in high school. When I was still in high school, I had so much more free time. There weren’t countless social events sapping my time, and the homework was easier. Ever since I moved to collage, I’ve had little time for my hobbies.

Write a blog, write a legacy…or something.

   Posted by: Spencer Conrad

Hello everyone! The site’s nearly finished now, I just have to write some text, and finish a few things up. Soon I can take that annoying “under construction” tag out of the page title. Once that’s done, I’ll start advertising, so our member base can grow. After all, no one should have to go without a weekly Myriad day! If you have any friends who might be interested in this site, please refer them here. I’m happier the more visitors I get, so please make me happy.

Darn Writer’s Blog!

   Posted by: Spencer Conrad

Well, this is my first official entry into my blog. Take note of this historic moment, for you may one day be able to tell your children the amazing story of seeing this post! (Ok, so I’ m not Tolkien…but HEY it could happen that I go down in the history books) Anyways, I’ve never had a blog before, so forgive me if my posts aren’t exactly what you’d expect on a blog.
