All he could do was watch as the woman played with one of the snakes that served as her hair. His body wouldn’t move.

“Now, Aveyar, I’ll [...]

Aveyar is impatient for more of his story to unfold and won’t shut up in my head. It’s like all these stories are like young toddlers constantly fighting [...]

You know, one of the hardest things about being a writer is coming up with an original idea. While it’s true that there are technically no NEW ideas (after thousands of years of stories, they’ve all been used), you can combine unoriginal ideas in such a way that it’s original. For example, in Fablehaven the [...]

Well, writing is suddenly easy again, and I’ve been getting a lot of work done. I’ve started on a new short story, and even have managed to get a great deal of the buffer for Myriad Souls done (yay for no more late Myriad Soul episodes). I’m really excited about writing, especially Myriad Souls. So, [...]

This Echo was different, like a voice crying out from the depths of his soul. His entire body was shaking; he’d never felt something that powerful and strange before. So many Echoes in such a short time…what was going on? Echoes had always been infrequent, signaling extreme danger. But he’d felt three in less than ten minutes. Just what was that monster he was stalking? What awaited him further in this cave? He knew these Echoes meant something, but he had a contract. The only way for him to survive was to make himself useful. If he failed to defeat the monster posing as a human woman, he’d be as useless as the other mercenaries who failed this job. Aveyar always fulfilled his contracts. That’s what kept him alive.

There are times in life where you realize just how good you used to have it. There is a magical moment where your bubble is popped, and life really sucks for a while. This moment just barely came for me. I was given surgery on my toe to remove a needle, and now it hurts like it is burning in all the fires of heck if I move it more than a few inches. It's getting better, but it is a moment where I appreciate much more a life without a very annoying left big toe.

Insanity is everywhere. No matter where you run, where you hide, it will find you.. Why? That is quite simple. Most insane people run free. True, those who are possessed with its most obvious forms are locked away. However, very few people with broken minds actually get locked up.
Well, due to finals, I was unable to write Myriad Souls E2 on time. Normally, I will have a 3 episode “buffer” in case of events like this, but finals didn’t allow me to write this either. I promise this it the ONLY time this will ever happen.

He could save the world. Syden stood in an ancient marble cathedral, golden mist swirling slowly around him. As the red sunset shone through sparkling stain-glassed windows, casting colored images of robed angels into the mist, Syden could feel the power of a deceased deity: the golden mist, the corpse of a god.
