Myriad Souls Episode 3

Posted by: Spencer Conrad    in Myriad Souls

It was like being a sword frozen into its sheath. Despite all his efforts to move and attack the shapeshifting monster, Aveyar’s body remained motionless due to her spell. All he could do was watch as the woman played with one of the snakes that served as her hair. His body wouldn’t move.

Myriad Souls has taken over

Posted by: Spencer Conrad    in Blog

As I sit here trying to write a short story I have planned, I can’t keep my mind on it. I keep wandering back to Myriad Souls. Aveyar is impatient for more of his story to unfold and won’t shut up in my head. It’s like all these stories are like young toddlers constantly fighting for my attention. With short stories I can write them quickly. Once the story is finished, it stops bothering me. However, Myriad Souls will continue. And because of this, it continues to nag me. I can’t do ANYTHING without Myriad Souls popping into my head; I keep thinking about Aveyar and his story: the story of the angel reborn as a demon.

Hey that’s my idea!

Posted by: Spencer Conrad    in Blog

You know, one of the hardest things about being a writer is coming up with an original idea. While it’s true that there are technically no NEW ideas (after thousands of years of stories, they’ve all been used), you can combine unoriginal ideas in such a way that it’s original. For example, in Fablehaven the author took the idea of the classical fairy tale creatures living among us (a very overused idea), and combined it with the idea of a magical preserve. While you can argue that this has been done before, it still FELT original (to me at least).

Writing craze

Posted by: Spencer Conrad    in Blog

Well, writing is suddenly easy again, and I’ve been getting a lot of work done. I’ve started on a new short story, and even have managed to get a great deal of the buffer for Myriad Souls done (yay for no more late Myriad Soul episodes). I’m really excited about writing, especially Myriad Souls. So, expect a lot of new content to show up this month! I found out why I kept getting sick, have fixed the problem, so I’m sure that my regained skills will stay. Make sure to check back every couple of days, and don’t forget to look every Saturday for a new episode of Myriad Souls. I’m even going to start writing regularly in my blog. (wow amazing. He’s actually going to provide something for us to stave off our boredom on a regular basis). However, a good author knows how to be brief and shut up for the sake of brevity, so I bid you farewell.

By the way, I’ve discovered that SlimFasts make great snacks, especially when writing. Gotta love that fake chocolate flavor. Ok, now I’m really done.

Myriad Souls: Episode 2

Posted by: Spencer Conrad    in Myriad Souls

This Echo was different, like a voice crying out from the depths of his soul. His entire body was shaking; he’d never felt something that powerful and strange before. So many Echoes in such a short time…what was going on? Echoes had always been infrequent, signaling extreme danger. But he’d felt three in less than ten minutes. Just what was that monster he was stalking? What awaited him further in this cave? He knew these Echoes meant something, but he had a contract. The only way for him to survive was to make himself useful. If he failed to defeat the monster posing as a human woman, he’d be as useless as the other mercenaries who failed this job. Aveyar always fulfilled his contracts. That’s what kept him alive.
